There is one highly overlooked word that will take your videos from flat to fabulous:
Practice!
That’s right. Believe it or not, being on camera is just like learning any other skill.
Most people need to practice.
You don’t expect to be able to ride a bicycle the first couple times that you try, right? Same thing with video.
For some reason, with on-camera stuff, we often feel like either we have “it” or we don’t. We’re born with charisma, born with the right energy, born knowing how to connect, how to be confident and engaging in front of cameras.
Check out this video to really dive into my secrets around The “P” Word and to get your fun On-Camera Challenge:
FYI, I’ve definitely had to learn about what works, what doesn’t and also how I can improve.
And anyone diving into a brand new arena will totally benefit from practicing their brand new skills.
I can’t stress how much practicing this new skill will help take the pressure off the actual shoot.
When you press record next time on your “real” videos, you’ll have worked out some kinks before hand.
Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what keeps YOU from practicing.
And as always…
Dream up,

Such a simple but effective tip! Just recorded 2 videos of me using my webcam talking about a couple of things I’m doing today, and there I am.. just me, no “I’m on camera weirdness”. Next up my proper camera!
How fantastic!!! Way to go Sarah! Yeah, practicing with these low-pressure shoots helps build your on-camera muscle. Keep at it lady!
Relaxed and conversational rocks!
